He is survived by: his wife Ourania Theocharous; his children, Dr. Rebecca Theophanous of Durham, NC, Dr. Stelios Theophanous (Leanna) of Cleveland, Dr. Kyriakos Theophanous of Cleveland and Andreas Theophanous of Boardman; and his siblings, Kostas Theophanous (Andriani), Theofanis Theophanous (Eleni), Peter Theophanous, Androulla Michael (Stylianos), Eleni Athanasiou (Antonios), Maria Mayer and Magdalene Theophanous.

The family requests that donations be made to St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Church in George's name.
