He was predeceased by: his parents, Sandor Szalay and Margit Bognar Szalay; and his brothers, Sandor and Tibor Szalay. He is survived by: his wife Helen Elizabeth Voros Szalay; his children, Frank (Susan) of New Middletown, Alex of Deerfield Beach, FL, Laszlo of Brighton, MI, Dr. Thomas (Megan) of Struthers and Martha Prefontaine (Larry Frank) of Coral Springs, FL; his sister Margit Menyhart (Peter) of Szombathely, Hungary; his grandchildren, MIchael Szalay (Danica), Eric Prefontaine, Sarah Szalay, Kristen Szalay, Jonah Prefontaine, Sam Szalay, Ava Szalay, Ella Szalay and Sawyer Szalay; and his great grandchildren, Parthena and Elliott Szalay.
