It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carmel Avila of Youngstown, Ohio, born in Girard, Ohio, who passed away on October 4, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, George Tinoco and Anna Christopher Tinoco; her husband Nicolas Avila; her sons, David and Nicolas Avila; and her brother Joseph Tonoco.

She is survived by: her family Carmel; her children, Linda Avila of Pittsburgh, Sylvia Berbigler (James) of Kentucky, Bob Avila (Lisa) of Boardman, Michael Avila of Youngstown and Edward Avila (Diane) of West Virginia; and her sister Frances Tonoco Wilson of Girard. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
