It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bennie Harrell of Youngstown, Ohio, who passed away on February 23, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Bennie leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Bennie may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Sr. Harrell and Eiffe Mae Harrell; his wife Anna LaVerne Blackburn; his son Larry Harrell; his sister Bertha Robinson (Herman); and his son-in-law Ron Bournes.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Harrell of Columbus, OH, LaVerne Bournes of Long Beach, CA and Beniann Moss (Miles) of Arlington, Texas; his brother Warren Harrell Jr. (Iva) of Youngstown; his aunt Doris Fisher of New York; and his daughter Jennifer "Gee Gee" Jackson. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home Inc. (1951 McGuffey Rd, Youngstown, OH 44505). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
