He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Burnett and Etha Miller Burnett; his wife Betty J Burnett (Dear); his son Wendell G. "Butch" Burnett, Jr.; and his brothers, Lawrence Burnett and Don Burnett.
He is survived by: his son Kent Burnett. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a favorite charity in his memory.
