He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Ala Wheeler (Barnhart) and Harry Allen Wheeler; and his siblings, Emma Jean Hughes and David Wheeler. He is survived by: his wife Vava Dorene Wheeler (Kidd); his daughter Tonya Michelle Kreml (Wheeler); his stepdaughter Lora Renee Kidd (Porter); his son-in-law Roland Kreml, Jr.; his grandchildren, Tara Kreml, Jessie White (Tim) and Wayne Kreml; his great grandchildren, Elijah and Phoebe White; and his brothers, Joe Wheeler (Doris) and Warren Wheeler.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spring Valley Fire Department or Spring Valley United Methodist Church.
