It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby Rector of Xenia, Ohio, who passed away on December 3, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ruby Rector to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, S. S. Matthews and Virginia DeHaven Matthews; her husband Charles C. Rector; her son Daniel Lee Rector; and her brothers, Roger Matthews and Bobby Matthews (Phillip Matthews).

She is survived by: her daughter Debra Smith (Thad); her grandchildren, Ella A. Smith and Aaron D. Smith; and her brother Richard D. Matthews (Shirley). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and by many close friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH, 45420, in her memory.

“Ruby was such a special lady. We first met at Spring Valley School where she was a stellar aide to third and fourth grade teachers! We couldn’t have done it without her kindness and support!! She was a wonderful Mother to her children, Danny, who was in my 3rd grade class, and Debra, who couldn’t wait to start kindergarten! Then, Ruby was moved to Central Office and left a big void in our days! We truly missed her. Ruby was truly a lovely lady who worked hard at all she accomplished.”
