He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Yates and Rosanna Yates (Shiveley); his wife Donna L. Yates (Cox); and his children, LaDonna Lynn Yates and Marion Eldon "Tony" Yates Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Shirley J. Edwards (James), Douglas W. (Doris Yates), David W. (Kathy Yates), Thomas E. (Tina Yates) and Christopher A. (Mabi Yates); his sisters, Leona M. Phillips (Yates) of Falmouth, KY and D. Loretta Nolder (Yates) of Apopka, FL; and his brother-in-law James Cox (Martha) of Ripley. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
