He is survived by: his wife Bette Ellis; his sons, John David Ellis and Jeffrey Dale Ellis; his granddaughter Emily Ellis; his pet B. J.; and his sisters, Eileen Stewart (Clifford), Gladys Martin (Glen) and Shirley Slack (Johnny). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
