He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bowman and Effie Bowman (Poole). He is survived by: his wife Nancy Bowman (Swafford); his brother David Bowman; his sons, Brent Bowman (Holly) and Matt Bowman (Jodi); his grandchildren, Jake, Molly Bowman, Nayson and Nevan Bowman; and his niece Lauren Botts.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Dayton in his name.
