He was predeceased by: his parents, Elisha Rogers and Ruth Rogers (Wilson); his wife Mattie Lorraine Rogers; his children, Benjamin S. "Benji" Rogers and Anna Ruth Brown; and his sisters, Velvie Smith, Ruby Perdue, Mildred Wilson and Marjorie Holbrook.
He is survived by: his daughter Debra Clark (Kent) of Jamestown; his brother Charles Rogers; his grandchildren, James Brown Jr. (Julie), Lori Berkey (Sam), Shawn Brown (Brittany), Amber Shoemaker (Joe), Tiffani Rogers, Benjamin Rogers Jr., Alena and Ana Clark; and his siblings-in-law, Opal Rogers and James Brown. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
