He was predeceased by: his parents, Shelby Grigsby and Gracie Chaney Grigsby; his wife Doris Lynn Grigsby (Cress); and his siblings, Emily High, Nancy Baker, Sallie Margaret Grigsby, Ray, Sam and Roy Grigsby.

He is survived by: his children, Donna Jean Tegtmeyer (Terry) and George Shelby Grigsby, Jr. (Kathy); his grandchildren, Shelby White (Ken), Tyler Grigsby (Alyssa), Justin Tegtmeyer and Ryan Tegtmeyer; his great grandchild Eleanor "Ellie" White; and his brother Zeke Grigsby (Barbara). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and by many close friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Church of Christ, 441 Ledbetter Rd., Xenia, OH, 45385, in his memory.
