He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Wharton and Kerrinne Wharton (Clark); his son Shannon Sr.; and his siblings, Linda "Sissy" Kelly, Connie Bowles, Alan, Dan and Jeff.
He is survived by: his wife Jan; his son Abel Earl Wharton (Danielle); his grandchildren, Shannon Jr., Hadley, Townes and Kayli; his great grandchildren, Mason, Brendon, Landon and Madilee; his brother David Wharton (Diane); and his siblings-in-law, Mike Kelly and Phyllis Woodward.
