He is survived by: his children, Dr. Joe Carpenter (Debbie) of North Canton and Markay Ross (Kris) of Louisville; his grandchildren, Dr. Ryan Joseph Carpenter (Erica), Kayla Marie Carpenter, Justin Anthony Carpenter and Cory Carpenter Ross (Courtney); and his great grandchild Auden Marian Carpenter.
