It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kathleen Leighty of Wooster, Ohio, born in Big Prairie, Ohio, who passed away on December 7, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Kathleen had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Kathleen may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her siblings, Robert Lee (Beverly), Richard Lee (Helen), Eloise Shafer (Joe) and Marjorie "Annie" Wakefield (Delbert). She is survived by: her children, Dave Leighty (Sandy), Kathy Blevens, Sherry Peters (Dan), Rod Leighty (Julie) and Connie Kalamaras (Denne). She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and 10 great -great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Schlabach Funeral Home (212 Jones St, Shreve, OH 44676). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
