He was predeceased by: his parents, John M. Leininger and Vita M. Leininger (Hutchison); and his daughter Joy Michele Newell. He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Strang of Haysville; his son John M. Leininger III; his siblings, Twila M. Gray of Wooster and Wayne E. Leininger of Nashville; his grandchildren, Paige K. Novak (Justin) of South Lyon, MI, Samantha J. Leininger of Columbus, Joseph E. Schaefer (Bambi) of Ashland and George Newell (Sissi) of Warsaw; his great grandchildren, Amelia, John, Naudia Schaefer, George II, Joyann, Samuel Newell and Julia Novak; and his son-in-law Jeffrey Newell.

There will be no calling hours because of Covid and the weather.
