He was predeceased by: his parents, George H. Young and Mildred W. Young (Simon) of Congress; and his stepgrandson Jason R. Howell (Tomi). He is survived by: his wife Joan Young (Firestone); his children, Nadine Howell (Jeff) and Blair Young (Beth Meininger); his grandchildren, Jason B. Howell (Tara), Michael Howell (Lia), Bethany Eley (Tyler), Brandt Young (Marina) and Lorna Young; his stepgranddaughter Stephanie Cooper (Todd); and his great grandchildren, Gavyn, Gage, Grayson Howell and Avgie Young.
In lieu of flowers, Richard has asked donations be made to Koutiala Hospital in care of Northview Church or to Gideon's International.
