He was predeceased by: his wife Christine Vance; his son Louis Phillips; his brother Nepoleon Walker Phillips; his stepfather French Chewning; and his half-siblings, Ted, Bernard, Donald and Shirlia.
He is survived by: his sons, Robert Phillips (Cheryl) of Orrville and Stephen Phillips (Carol) of Huron; and his half-sisters, Hazel, Sandra, Sharron and Barbara. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
