He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Sweeney and Mildred Sweeney (Beasley); his children, Mike Sweeney and Betsy Zuk; and his siblings, Cecil Sweeney, Ruby Sweeney, Nancy Garbesi, Ida Lawrence, Eloise McCowan and Ralph Sweeney.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Ryan Wardle; his children, Matt Sweeney, Cyndy Klaiber, Deborah Scott (Cliff), Jenny White (Ron), Katie Mundon (Drew) and Bill Wardle (Tammy); his sister Nell Winterstein; his sister-in-law Amy Sweeney; and his children-in-law, Pam Bobo and Dan Zuk. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org, a cause dear to Ed's heart.
