He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Sr. Griffith and Olivia DeHavilland Carter Griffith. He is survived by: his siblings, James E. Griffith, Jr. (Carol) of Orrville, Sylvia Y. Robinson (Sylvester) of Canton, Joy L. Griffith of Wooster and Leon V. Griffith (Jamie) of Wooster; and his aunt Joyce Carter (Michelle Carter). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews all who were like his children.
