He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip L. Cardelein Sr. and Marietta "Mary" Nardozzi Cardelein; his sister Rose McKula (Gene); and his brothers-in-law, Dan Pesut, Steve Sheronovich and Robert Slovkovsky.
He is survived by: his sons, James Cardelein (Dawn) of Leetonia and Gary Cardelein (Kari) of Paden City, W. V; his grandchildren, Daniel Cardelein (Jessica), Diedre Bradford (Joe), Jessica Cardelein (Shane), Sean Gaither (Nicki), Justin Gaither and Kira; his great grandchildren, Cooper, Kaydyn Cardelein, Crue Twyford, Haley and Hanna Gaither; and his sisters, Amelia Pesut, Nancy Sheronovich, Sue Slovkovsky and Carmel Thornton (Don). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
