It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Herman Zerger Jr. of Woodsfield, Ohio, who passed away on October 22, 2021, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Zerger and Sylvia Mowder Zerger; his sisters, Doris Williams and Ruth Roth; and his stepchildren, Gary Russell and Chris Russell Schenerlein.

He is survived by: his close friend Clair Thompson of Stafford, Ohio; his niece Dee Vargo (Mike) of Woodsfield, Ohio; his nephew Stephen Williams (Erlene) of Chickasha, Oklahoma; his stepdaughter Connie Kaufman (Hank) of Johnstown, Ohio; his great-niece Alexis Vargo; his great-nephews, Christian Vargo, Brian Williams and Jeff Williams; his cousin Rick Zerger (Kitty) of Caldwell, Ohio; and his close friends, Joe Bishop (Robin) of Woodsfield, John Marshall of Columbus and Mark Easton (Lorie) of South Carolina.

Due to current Covid conditions, guests are asked to follow recommended safety guidelines at all gatherings.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the 1st United Methodist Church, 136 N. Main Street, Woodsfield, Ohio 43793.
