He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Sr. Knechtly and Evelyn Davis Knechtly; his siblings, Jack Knechtly and Lucille Knechtly; his foster son John Rose; and his great grandchild Matt Rose.

He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Bradley Knechtly; his children, Rose Hale (Ron) of Bethel, Katrina Spires (Kevin) of Georgetown, Danny Knechtly (Gail) of Blue Creek, Johnny Knechtly (Tammy) of West Union, Gary Knechtly (Anna) of Sardinia and Brooks Knechtly (Tanya) of Lucasville; and his sister-in-law Joyce Knechtly of Mt. Orab. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Hope or Winchester United Methodist Church.
