He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Jones and Verna Jones (Lumpkins); his wife Eva M. Jones (Mahanes); his daughter Peggy Ann Jones; and his siblings, Max, Elbert, Harold, David Jones, Rose Grady and Laverne Wallace.
He is survived by: his children, Bobby Jones, II (Chandra) of Winchester, Melissa "Missi" Layman (Gary) of Hillsboro, Christina Layman (Alan) of Sardinia and Monica Price (Jim) of Ewing, KY.; and his siblings, Scott Jones of Alaska, Billie Creech, Anna Stratton of Seaman and Phyllis Fuchs. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
