He is survived by: his parent Virginia Sachs Chewning; his wife Mary Wheadon Chewning; his children, Tad Chewning of Millersburg, Rosemary Campbell (Robert) of Wooster, Lonnie Chewning (Diane) of Wilmot and Billy Joe Chewning (Elaine) of Strasburg; and his siblings, Glenda Bennett (Jerry) of Beach City, Sandy Pauley of West Virginia, Sharon Boggs of Youngstown, Barbara Schultz of Wooster and Fred Phillips of Wooster. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
