He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter George and Marcell Nadine Carruthers (Shattuck). He is survived by: his wife Janice Rae Carruthers (Singer); his children, Sharon Larrick (Phil) of Washington Courthouse, OH, Sandi Hoffer (Bill), Randy Carruthers (Dani) and Rodney Carruthers (Sara); his grandchildren, Shaleigh Adams (Sam), Wesley Larrick (Paige), Chris Hoffer, Casey Hoffer, Cory Hoffer (Samantha), Claire Carruthers, Sadie Carruthers, Ashley Carruthers, Jordan Clark (Zach) and Abbey Carruthers; and his great grandchildren, Gavin, Avalee, Grayson, Ria, Easton, Emery, Hadley and Remington. He is also survived by his wife, other surviving family members.
Contributions in Walt's memory may be made to the St. Columbkille Catholic Church or to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
