She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver "Cotton" Dalton and Rachel Dalton (Brown); and her sister Sara Newell. She is survived by: her close friend Jimmy "Lard" Morris; her daughters, Jennifer Newell of Wilmington and Pamela Robertson of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Melinda Davis (James) of Wilmington, Kristina Scholefield, Rachel Davis of Wilmington, John Robertson, Edward Robertson and Derrick Robertson; her great grandchildren, Hunter Davis, Hayden Davis and Landon Davis; her sisters, Jeanette "Nettie" Tolle of Martinsville and Betty Shepherd (Jim) of Martinsville; and her nieces and nephews, Jackie Stone of Carrabelle, Janet Smith of New Vienna, James "Jimmy" of Martinsville, David Tolle of Martinsville, Jeff Shepherd of Martinsville and John Reese Grooms of Martinsville.
