He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gilbert and Florence Edna Gilbert (Johnson); his stepmother Myrtie Gilbert (Belcher); his parents-in-law, George C. and Ruth Pidgeon (Denny); and his siblings, Earl, Roy, Laura, Lorraine, Edna and Dee (Bill).
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Carter Gilbert (Pidgeon); his son Jonathan Carter Gilbert; and his parents-in-law, Charlotte Gilbert, Rachel Pidgeon, Margaret Raabe, Stephen and Sandy Pidgeon. He is also survived by his wife, other surviving family members.
