He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wesley and Esther Smith (Clements); his wife Rebecca M. "Becky" Smith; and his brother Greg Smith. He is survived by: his children, Jimmy Smith, Jr. (Lindsay) of Wilmington, Kimi Mellinger (Travis) of Wilmington, Tifaney Sandlin (Nick) of Wilmington and Beth Cramton (Jimmy) of Fayetteville; his grandchildren, Justice Gunkel (Chris), Triston Thompson-Smith, Logan Smith, Landon Mellinger, Larkyn Mellinger, Lacie Sandlin, Alyssa Sandlin, Kaydence Cramton, Reese Cramton, McKynlei Cramton and Travis Cramton; his great grandchildren, Brightyn, August and Aurora; and his brother Mike Smith (Sharon) of Milford. He is also survived by his extended family; and many friends.
