He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert Summers and Alberta Summers (Gray); his former wife Martha Jane; his parents-in-law, Bruce and Ruth Ellen Rhoades; his brothers, Kenneth (Janie), John (June), Edwin "Ducky" (Mary Ann) and Bobby Summers; and his stepson Tony.
He is survived by: his wife Julia Curry; his children, Bruce (Danny Austin) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Brenda Summers of Fort Lauderdale; his stepdaughter Tina Terrell (Sam); his stepgrandchildren, Brent Terrell (Erica) and Bridgette Abraham (Milfred); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Austin, Ace Terrell, Connor and Priya; his nieces, Kenna Edwards of Wilmington and Deborah Ann Tackett; and his nephew Eddie Summers.
