With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Donald Ray Payton of Wilmington, Ohio, born in Fayette County, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 1, 2024 at the age of 71. He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Berwanger and Connie Payton Berwanger (Redman); his son Dion Jon Furguson; and his siblings-in-law, Donna Payton, Karen Capehart and Rick Hunt.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Jean Payton (Burnell); his daughter Heather Arrington (Darrell); his grandchildren, Rickie Smith, Kayla Furguson and Michael Furguson (Michelle); his siblings, Tom Payton (Vickie), Kenny Payton, Vicki Hunt, Rosemary Cottrell, Randy Payton and Gary Payton; his stepbrother Jerry Crawford; his daughter-in-law Varina Furguson; and his sister-in-law Mary Lou Petersen. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
