He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry McConnaughey and Margene McConnaughey (Crute); his stepson Danny Vance; and his siblings, Mona Lou Storts, Rev. Jerry, Larry and Ronald McConnaughey.
He is survived by: his wife Jean McConnaughey (Sprinkle); his children, LaDonna Scaggs, Robert Vance (Debbie) and LaVonne McCandless (Jim); his daughter-in-law Karen Vance; and his brother Andy McConnaughey. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren.
