He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Smith and Beverly Smith (Paul); his wife Betty JoAnn Smith; his grandson Daniel Ray Smith; and his siblings, Steve Smith and Nancy Harris.
He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Bond (Mark), Carliss Smith Jr. (Cheri), Michael Smith (Shaunda) and JoAnna Powell (Aaron); his grandchildren, Kathy Smith, Samantha Constant (Brad), Brandon Smith, Rebecca Smith, Mikey Smith, Brett Smith, Renee Constant (Zachary), Aubrey Powell and Gabrielle Powell; his great grandchildren, Mia Constant, Azaria Constant and Shirley Clifton; and his siblings, Charlise Mattos, Pamela Harner (Richard Faul) and Wayne Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Contributions in memory of Carliss may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with expenses.
