He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley Stoops and Jennie Pierson Stoops; and his siblings, Darold Stoops, Mary Fink, Jean Glaze and Vera May Miller.

He is survived by: his siblings, Harold Stoops of Lynchburg, James Stoops of Wilmington, Ohio, Caroline Davison (David) of Sabina, Nancy Wheelen (Benny) of Xenia and Sharon Jones (Greg) of Xenia, Ohio. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
