He was predeceased by: his parents, Gregg R. Knittle and Dorothy V. Knittle (Brittson); his son Robert Knittle; his siblings, Lisle, Rev. Carey Knittle and Rose Ann Plumley; his grandson Ben Knittle; and his great grandchild Tyler.
He is survived by: his wife Sheryl Knittle of Willshire, Ohio; his sons, Ronald Knittle (Nancy) of Sebastian, Randy Knittle (Cathy) of Chicago, Ryan Knittle (Kelly) of Florida and Kyle Knittle (Elizabeth) of Wren, Ohio; his sister Lucille Cole of Decatur, Indiana; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Knittle of Decatur, Indiana and Marge Knittle of Tennessee. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
