He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley and Mary; his son Joseph; and his siblings, Stella and John.

He is survived by: his wife Geraldine; his children, Daniel (Marilyn Scarano), Terrance (Nancy), Timothy (Jennifer), James (Denise) and Judith Sater (Ron); his grandchildren, Joseph, John, Ian, Patrick, Brittney, Hailey and Kayla; and his great grandchildren, Samuel, Sophie, Jacob, Tyler, Hailey, Redding and Griffin.
