It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jeanne Petersen of Willowick, Ohio, born in London, Ontario, who passed away on July 27, 2020, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband William Petersen; her son Robert Petersen; her daughters-in-law, Catherine Petersen and Kristi Petersen; her grandson Gray Gideon; her parents, Alexandre LaFontaine and Mary LaFontaine; and her brothers, Leo, Roy and Gerald LaFontaine.
She is survived by: her children, Mary P. Junk, Michael Petersen, Thomas Petersen (Karen), Ann Golden (Greg), Patricia Gideon (Chuck), William Petersen, John Petersen (Sherry) and Susan Connolly (Pete); her daughter-in-law Teri Petersen; her grandchildren, Thomas Junk, Katrina Brill (Matt), Margi Swellie (Matt), Brian Petersen (Jessica), Bernadette Harvey (Dan), Theresa Maher (Jim), Alexis Petersen, Eric Petersen, Amanda Gerish (Chuck), Alex Golden, Andrew Golden, Michael Gideon, Emily Gideon, Matthew Petersen, John Petersen, Grace Connolly, Rose Connolly and Peter Connolly; her great grandchildren, Ellie, Evan Junk, Daniel Geiser, Sam, Jack Rees, Chloe, Cameron Swellie, Sadie, Colin, Elise Petersen, Dominic, Brogan Harvey, Cecilia, Kilian Maher, Faith Petersen, Connor Overstreet, Elliot and Remi Gerish; and her sisters-in-law, Anne LaFontaine and Claire Acitelli.
She died alone in the Covid unit at Breckenridge Fairmount Health Care Center in Willoughby, shortly after testing positive for coronavirus.
