He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie C. Payne and Florence Marie Payne; his wife Norma Lee Callicoat Payne; his son Stephen Dale Payne; his grandson Stephen Dale Payne, Jr.; his sister Norma; his brother-in-law Carl Holderby; and his brother Lloyd Payne.
He is survived by: his son Gene; his daughters-in-law, Joyce Payne and Dolly Payne; his daughter Paula "Polly"; his son-in-law John Wilson; his daughter Teresa; his son-in-law Mark Wilson; his daughter Tammy; his son-in-law Willie Fulks; his sister Barbara; his siblings-in-law, Doug Deering and Wanda Payne; and his grandchildren, Christy Richards, Eugene Payne, Brian Pancake, Shannon Payne, K. D. Payne, Jeremy Tredway, Tommy Tredway, Christopher Reynolds, Travis Wilson, Ramsey Wilson, Chad Fulks, Todd Fulks and Destiney Davis. He is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren.
