Wanda Louise (Craine) Chiancone Obituary
Wanda Louise (Craine) Chiancone, 96, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024 at her residence in Winter Garden, FL surrounded by family and pet dog Zoe. Born July 2, 1928, in Lilly PA, to parents Seth and Theresa (Conti) Craine. She lived in Willoughby, Lake County, Ohio for more than 60 years. Wanda was a devoted homemaker to her family. She loved bowling, gardening, reading, crocheting and was an avid dog lover. Every Sunday the family gathered for her home-made spaghetti dinner and dessert. She loved her holidays and baking cookies with her granddaughters. Above all, she was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother.
Wanda graduated from East High School in Cleveland OH on January 23, 1948. She liked to go dancing at the Aragon Ballroom on West 25th Street in Cleveland OH, a big band dance hall, where she met her future husband, Joseph Chiancone. They were married on September 2, 1950 and set up a home. Wanda and Joe went on to have 2 sons, Robert and Ronald. She doted over her three granddaughters.
Wanda is survived by her children Robert J Chiancone (Linda Lahodny) of Chardon OH and Ronald J Chiancone (Grace) of Winter Garden FL, as well as her sister Bonnie Fierst of Chardon OH, and her loving granddaughters, Nicole, Rachel and Jessica. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews along with her devoted caregivers, Claudia, Janette, and Marie.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph Arthur Chiancone of 65 years, her parents Seth Washington and Theresa Irene (Conti) Craine and her sisters Bernadine Deckman and Juanita Buehner.
To honor Wanda’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. We invite you to please privately celebrate Wanda’s memory in your own ways. I know that she will be with us all in spirit. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
