He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas and Martha Dempsey. He is survived by: his children, Thomas James Dempsey Jr. (Amanda) of Bristolville and Joseph R. Dempsey of Willoughby; his grandsons, Tyler Jay Dempsey and Austin Thomas Dempsey; his siblings, Pat Burkholder (Tom) and Judy Barnhart (Robert); his close friend Gary Betzler; and also Jodi Dempsey of Willowick.
