He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Cawthon and Angie Collis Elrod; and his former wife Carole Carter. He is survived by: his wife Connie; his children, Cynthia Haavisto (Clyde), Chris Carter and Amy Carter-Ross; his grandchildren, Carrie Sabljakovic (Mac), Christine Yee (Scott), Chelsea Carter, Nicholas Carter and Jenna Ross; and his great grandchildren, Ayman Sabljakovic, Gwen Yee and Cory Yee.
