He was predeceased by: his daughter-in-law Georgia Parker; his parents, Jack Mahoney and Hazel Mahoney; and his siblings, Marilyn Scranton and Billie Curlin.

He is survived by: his spouse Colleen A. Mahoney; his children, Richard J. Mahoney, Rick Parker, Charles Ware (Jenny), Christina Barrett (John), Cindy Robinson (Stacey) and Connie Tarach (Tony); and also Ethel "Crickett" Mahoney. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Donations in his name may be made in care of the family.
