He was predeceased by: his wives, Mary Ellen and Jacqueline Vlk-Maire; and his siblings, Mary Jane, Frank, Rita and Robert.

He is survived by: his sons, Joseph F. (Yvonne), Michael (late Lynda), Frank (Connie) and William; his stepchildren, Leroy Vlk (Sharon), Evelyn Stanoch (Phil) and Steven Vlk (Michelle); and his sister Anne Lewanski (late Dan).
