He was predeceased by: his grandson Tommy; his parents, Robert Whittaker and Marie Whittaker; and his brother Jack Whittaker. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia; his children, Matthew (June) and Amy Bolton (Chip); his grandchildren, Michael, Kate, Bobby, Lily, Elizabeth, Nick and Charlie; his sister Marilyn Wade (Shawn); and his cousin Terry Wolford (Mary).

Contributions may be made in memory of Tom to Holden Arboretum.
