Sophie Matuch Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sophie Matuch (Willoughby Hills, Ohio), who passed away on January 28, 2025, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Michael; her parents, John Kapel and Jennie Kapel; and her siblings, John Kapel, Marion Slejko (late Stan), Betty Rotar (late Sonny) and Henry Kapel (Dorothy).
She is survived by: her children, Dina Haynosch (Steve), Cindy (late Kenny), Rain Matuch (late Tom McHenry) and Jeanne Matuch; her grandchildren, Nicole (Steve), Danielle (Mike), Mike (Christina), Matt (Cat) and Michael (Coley); her great grandchildren, Norah, Leland, Emma, Leo, Hattie and Brooke; and her sister Vida Zak (late Frank). She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, taking her family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home (28890 Chardon Rd, Willoughby Hills, OH 44092). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church - Holmes Ave. (15519 Holmes Ave, Cleveland, OH 44110).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sophie's name to either St. Mary of the Assumption Church or to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Cleveland, RMHC Northeast Ohio, 10415 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106.
