He is survived by: his wife Sue Thornton (Stewart); his children, Kim Brier (Richard), Richard Thornton Jr. (Ann Marie) of Plymouth, Randy Reynolds (Carol), Scott Thornton and Dean Thornton (Lori) of Shelby; his granddaughter Rachel Thornton (Sue); his siblings, Jim Thornton (Maria) and Marian Rodriguez (David); and his sister-in-law Nikki Thornton. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
