He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Marion, Stella Smith, Charles, Rosena Laubie and Neice Kelsey Kay Perrine; his uncle John DeVito; his cousin Loren Frey; and his sister-in-law Gloria Ernsberger.
He is survived by: his parents, William Smith and Christena Smith (Laubie) of Shelby; his wife Connie Smith of Willard; his children, Charles "Chip" Smith of Shelby and Jessica Dawson (Carlton) of Garner, NC.; his stepchildren, Timothy Pugh Jr. (Misty Boyd) of Willard and Cara Consiglio (Samuel Stephens) of Willard; his grandchildren, Preston Shearer, Quinn Dawson, Ashlyn Smith, Kali, TJ, Jonathan, Taylynn, Jace Pugh and Connor Boyd; and his pets, Lacy and Milo. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
