He was predeceased by: his father Rufus Johnson; his wife Eloise Johnson (Harmon); his daughter Sharon Hunt; and his siblings, Shirley Womack, Juanita Sharp, Bernice Stanley, Pauline Harshburger, Bob Johnson, Sherman Johnson and Rufus Johnson, Jr. (Garlen).
He is survived by: his mother Lettie Johnson (Duvall); his sons, Steve Johnson (Sharon) of Smyrna and Leo Johnson (Kim) of Ironton; his brother Sam Johnson of Ironton; and his grandchildren, Chad Hamilton, J. J., Kellie Hunt, Lane and Carter Johnson. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, as Garlen would say, "pay your tithes so you can keep your pies.".
