He was predeceased by: his father Herbert Nolen; his siblings, Donald, Estel, Eugene, Barbara Ramey and Mae Hall; and his grandson Joseph Carl.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Sue Phipps Nolen; his children, Marvin Nolen (Sandy), Dale Nolen, Scott Nolen, Mendy Nolen and Tiffany Nolen; and his sisters, Charlene Holley, Arene Russell, Geneva Burkart, Ruth Ann Holley and Patty Hale. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
