He was predeceased by: his wife Eva Giermann; his son John; his grandson Christopher; his parents, Elmer Giermann and Ethel Putsch; and his siblings, June Schonberger and Bill Giermann.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy, Bill (Diane), Tom, Bob (Linda), Don (Ellen) and Ron (Patty); and his sister Joan Marinchek. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
